WHY TITHING & OFFERING?
"BRING ALL THE TITHES INTO THE STOREHOUSE, THAT THERE MAY BE FOORD IN MY HOUSE AND TRY ME IN THIS" SAYS THE LORD OF HOSTS, "IF I WILL NOT OPEN FOR YOU THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN AND POUR OUT FOR YOU SUCH BLESSING THAT THERE WILL NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH TO RECEIVE IT." MALACHI 3:10
"What is a tithe?"
A tithe is the 10% returned to the Lord. It is returning the first fruits of your increase. The tither, the ‘tenth’ belongs to God and is the key to your seed being blessed. (Example: If you receive a $500.00 paycheck, the tither is 10%, $50.00.)
"Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine." Proverbs 3:9-10
"And all the tithe of the land, whether the seed of the land or the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's. It is holy to the LORD." Leviticus 27:30
A FEW THINGS ABOUT TITHING:
1. You tithe where you are fed.
2. Tithing connects you to your deliverance.
3. Tithing connects you to God and His Covenant.
4. Tithing is all about honor.
The best way to get out of debt is to begin tapping into tithing and offering. When you tithe, the Lord will make sure that your bills are paid because you are helping the church pay their bills. If you’re offering, but not tithing, offering will not work until you give the 10%.
"What is an offering?"
An offering follows your tithe. It is anything past the 10%, sown to wherever you desire to sow seed. It is a gift you bestow of your choosing. The tithe ensures that the bills are paid, the offering ensures that you have what you need. It will bless you, prosper you, and keep you.
Offering is a seed that is attached to harvest. In order to reap a seed, you must sow a seed. The more seed you sow, the larger the harvest you will reap. Your tithe protects this seed, according to Malachi 3:11.
You can sow into an area you desire to reap a harvest. Houses, cars, clothes, rest, healing, etc. Where you sow your seed, you will harvest. Name your seed. If you sow a financial seed, be sure to name the seed for which you are expecting a harvest. Every seed produces after its own kind.
For example, “I am sowing this financial seed to get out of debt.” Or “I am sowing this seed for a vehicle.”
There are some seeds that will take longer to harvest, and there are some seeds sown that will take a shorter amount of time to harvest. We like to call these squash seeds and apple seeds. Squash seeds are smaller seeds sown that will reap an immediate harvest. A squash seed only produces harvest during a short season. An apple seed is a larger seed sown that will take longer to produce a harvest, but once the first harvest is produced, it will not stop producing.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Your life goes in the direction that you allow your words to go. We speak the offering confession, prophesying, and calling into being blessing. We are expectant of great blessings from the Lord, because he promises it in His Word.
HOPETON’S OFFERING CONFESSION
As we give today’s offering, we are believing the Lord for jobs and better jobs, benefits, sales and commissions, settlements, estates and inheritances, interest and income, rebates and returns, checks in the mail, gifts and surprises, scholarships, finding money, bills paid off, debts demolished, royalties received, supernatural increase, houses, land, vehicles and equipment, rain to cause our crops to grow and bless our land. As we give today’s offering, we believe the Lord is bringing seed into our hands. Thank you Father for protection as we give our tithes and offering. This is my seed, Lord. Hallelujah!
